Digital Natives hits Derwentwater

Derwentwater Digital Natives display
As a spectacular culmination to the first phase of Digital Natives , 13 young people from across Cumbria took part in a digital arts residency at the historic mansion that is Derwentwater youth hostel.
An eyepopping light display was created by the students to amaze and entertain residents and locals.
In addition images were drawn live by Yasmin Dendani of Cleator Moor onto the facade of the building.
Ciara Muir 14 from Whitehaven said :”It was awesome seeing our work projected so big, and the combination of new technology on an old building was pretty cool”

Digital Natives launches

Art Locates Me is very excited to be delivering its new project ‘Digital Natives’, after receiving Arts Council Lottery funding. ALM are making the most of these luscious dark nights to work with young people across Cumbria to produce cutting edge projections.

Participants are working with artist Jason Threlfall and others to produce spectacular projections that interact with the environment. Workshops have already taken place in Whitehaven, Carlisle and Kendal. To get involved click on our ‘Contact’ form and send us a message.
